Workshop Content

Exploration of scripts, context, and characters and reimagining scenarios.

Use drama exercises and activities to imagine and explore the characters, context, and topics from new angles.

Recount stories and explore characterisations - movement and emotions and intentions.

Discuss and debate the motives and decisions of the characters.
Learning Objectives

To think critically about characters in scripts.

We work with students in a drama studio or the school hall.

Sessions are 50 -90 Minutes

Beyond the Script
These workshops experience explore characters in scenarios and bring stories to life by taking a close look at extracts and expressing the ideas in performance. The student develops their understanding of the conventions of the script, how the play script presents characters and a closer look at how dialogue is presented in a play script.

Opportunities are presented for students to plan, discuss and write a short script, before working with others to perform their work.

Each workshop experience shows how to bring fresh light and learning to almost every corner of the drama curriculum, enabling students to extend their understandings of the world, develop their imaginations and see things from different points of view.
