FAQ

Maximum Tutoring offers an informal learning assessment within the first lesson. It isdesigned to support and develop, student's individual learning styles. Our methods help to advance the learning experience for accelerated progress, during school and in everyday life.

During the initial meeting, we take time to discuss any: learner needs (already identified), areas of concerns in subject matter and possible barriers to learning. We include a short Question and Answer discussion to help identify areas of strength and areas in need of improvement.

After the learning assessment, a personalised Individual Smart Learning programme in created, to guide, pace and support students as they strive towards their maximum performance level.

Weekly tuition time is used to teach, revise and chart progress in learning and development.

It is recommended that each student can benefit from a minimum of 8 hours of personal tuition time. Any amount of additional, focused learning time can boost progress.  Students may require a short burst of tuition or tuition over a longer period of time.

The amount of time allocated for a student to work with a tutor always depends on the learning needs of the individual student.  The measurement of time is different for each student. For example, a more able student may require additional time to grow in confidence or exam techniques.  A less able and confident student may require time to develop information retrieval and recall skill.

Each session runs for an hour. It may be possible at times to book an extended lesson or Extra Session depending on the needs and approaching Exam dates.

What's the minimum time to work with a tutor?

Each student is given a range of homework. It may include research, planning, revision or independent learning targets.

Students are expected to work hard to complete any work set. All homework is negotiated and set in line with a personalised Smart Learning Plan, developed maximum progress and achievement.

Each Individual Smart Learning Plan have flexible and lesson plan with objectives and outcomes. Ideas and learning from prior sessions are discussed and reviewed. Learning is tracked and monitored weekly. A record of achievement is available to support learning and goal setting.

All homework, written or verbal is recorded. Homework and tasks are reviewed and discussed.
